Click here to sign up for our Adult Skill Clinic updates & discounts.

Our skill clinics are run each season for a variety of different adventure activities.  The beginner level courses aren’t just for people who have never done the activity before, but for those that have never had any instruction on technique, climb set ups, kayak rolls & rescue techniques, or safety in caves.  Skill clinics are typically reserved for people ages 14+, no experience is necessary but must have a genuine interest in the sport as well as moderate physical capabilities.  Please feel free to call us at 540-864-6792 or email us to get specific details about what that entails.

This year we will also be offering an Apres-Clinic Half-Flight Beer Tasting of Five 4oz. Tastings from you favorite local and regional craft breweries for just an additional $10!

1979530_10152663305526038_996315068_nSaturday, April 12, 2014: Intermediate Backcountry Biking at Price Mountain

Tuition:  $40/person, Bring Your Own Bike or Demo one from Just The Right Gear; Energy drinks & snacks included.  We will also be providing on trail bike support.  So if you get a flat or need a tune up during your adventure, our staff will handle it!
Location:  Meet at Wilderness Adventure (Transportation to Price Mountain provided)
Description:  This ride starts just 10 minutes away from our base camp in New Castle, VA, but it will take you on a ride that feels truly backcountry.  This old school trail system has a little bit of everything to challenge riders: steep climbs, rocky steep descents and ridge top views.  Off camber switchbacks are the norm on this 6.5 mile loop.   Don’t judge this trail by its distance, the ridge top views and long descents are worth all the effort!  If you want a true backcountry experience close to home, this is the one for you!

9:00am Arrival at WAEL, paperwork, group welcome
9:15am Shuttle to Price Mountain provided
~12:00pm Lunch on the Trail (Bring Your Own)
~4:00pm Departure for WAEL

Description:  North Mountain is an extremely technical 12 mile ride.  Rocky ridge top riding dominates 90% of this epic single-track day.  Steep climbs and “hike a bike” sections are the norm.  Large rocks are scattered across the ridge from beginning to end and will challenge the most skilled riders.  Dragon’s Back can be made into a lollypop loop or can be shuttled based on riders preference.  If you are looking to challenge your riding in every way, this is the backcountry trail for you!
