At Wilderness Adventure we offer many family opportunities for anything from adventure excursions to rest and relaxation retreats.
Family Reunions
We have the facilities, space and amenities for your family to have a great reunion or event at our facility. If you would like to make an overnight or weekend out of it we have 2 elegantly rustic lodges and 1 small cabin available for rent, which can currently hold a combined maximum of 96. Or if you want to just spend the day on our 500 acre property, then you can rent our large outdoor pavilion and get a number of activities included in your rental.
Activities included in an overnight stay or a day trip facility rental are sand volleyball, horseshoes, hiking & biking (unguided w/ own equipment) on our 500 acre property, swimming (life jackets required & provided), canoeing & fishing in our large pond with gazebo, and we have field game equipment for soccer, football, frisbee, etc.
Adventure activities such as rock climbing, canoeing on the river and many more are available at an additional cost per person and can be coordinated with our staff. No problem, we are known for our amazing food served buffet style so that you and your family will have more than enough. We even take requests and make special recipes just for your occasion. Weekend Trips
Are you looking for a place to bring your loved ones or small family group? What better way to enjoy time together than coming to our 500 acre property, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains with adventure activities, great food, friendly staff and relaxation that can only happen in the mountains. Camp out under the stars or rent one of our all-seasons cabins or lodges for a great family get away.
We have a variety of both FREE activities (when you rent a cabin or campsite) and activities that require instruction (rock climbing, zip line, etc.) that can easily entertain your family for a weekend or even a week long vacation. Day Trips
Live nearby or visiting family in the area? We are local to Roanoke, Blacksburg, New Castle, Botetourt and the surrounding areas. Just a 20 minute drive from Fincastle or 45 minute drive from downtown Roanoke on one of Virginia’s most scenic by-ways and you can be right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains for the day.

Parties & Picnics
A unique venue with excellent service, beautiful scenery and amazing food !?!…What more could you ask for at your event? We have served groups for birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties, reunions, bachelor & bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, weddings and anything else you can imagine. Once people come and visit our 500 acre property with every amenity and activity under the sun they can’t stop thinking of reasons to come and visit. Our experienced and helpful staff will help you plan every last detail exactly the way you want it. We also have a number of pre-planned events where you can come and enjoy a night away such as our Wine & Dines, Beer Tasting, Adventure Races, and more.
