Our elegantly rustic lodges stocked with all the modern amenities are situated on 500 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains, approximately 35 miles northwest of Roanoke, Virginia.
The property borders beautiful Craig Creek and hundreds of square miles of wilderness in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.
Our facilities include our grand Main Lodge; our corporate style Sly Lodge (wireless included), a the small rustic Sneaky cabin. Our 500 acre facility also includes a large pavilion (with lights & fans), cedar sauna with marble fountain, miles of hiking and biking trails, a picturesque gazebo on the water in one of our two fishing ponds, a sand volleyball court (with lights), a horseshoe pit, fields & goals for soccer, Frisbee, football, adventure trails, and scenic Craig Creek for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. We truly are in the center of a beautiful mountain oasis.
Lodging
We pride ourselves on the rustic, yet modern and elegant comfort of our lodging facilities. Whether you sleep in one of our lodges, in one of our small cabins, or camp out under the stars, we ensure you will sleep well while you are with us.
Main Lodge
Our grand 7,000 sq. ft. log cabin lodge has a 50 person bunk-style capacity in nine separate bedrooms. The original 1800′s farmhouse attached to the Main Lodge has also been updated and can hold an additional 6 people for overflow. All linens are provided. The large community style bathrooms have 4 showers, 2 toilets and 2 sinks on each gender side. Other amenities include a large stone fireplace, a large country kitchen (we provide all the meals), satellite television with vcr/dvd player, wifi access, compact disc stereo system, game chest, covered wraparound porch, and indoor restroom and shower facilities. For approved groups our cedar sauna is also available (typically reserved for adults only).
Come relax on the Main Lodge’s full wrap around porch in the large Adirondack chairs. Choose your view of the garden and the creek, the pond with its picturesque gazebo, or the breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. If it is cold outside you can warm yourself by our two story hearth, where the fire is always roaring. Whether you came for the excitement of our 900′ zip line or the relaxation of our scenic facilities, no one ever leaves Wilderness Adventure without a smile on their face.
Sly Lodge
The newest addition to our family is a 2,400 sq. ft. log lodge. “Sly” offers a fully air conditioned lodge, wireless internet, private kitchen, 4 private full bathrooms, and 10 rooms with double beds. Considered our corporate style lodge it is designed to hold 11 people if each person is given a private room, or up to 32 if all beds are filled by families or school groups. A television with a DVD player is also availabe in the Sly Lodge, however due to its wooded location no satellite is available at this time. As with all our accommodations all linens and towels are provided. For approved groups our sauna is also available.
Sneaky Cabin
Sneaky cabin is a perfect fit for families, groups of friends, or small organizations. This cabin sleeps up to 9 people within its downstairs bedroom with a double bed and the loft with 6 bunk style beds. It has one full bathroom, kitchenette, small living room, a front porch, grill and fire pit and sitting area in the yard. Sneaky Cabin is located near Sly Lodge and is perfect for overflow if Sly isn’t big enough for your group.
Camping
If you choose to backpack or camp out in one of our twelve primitive campsites, we can provide all of the equipment (backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and pads, rain ponchos, water bottles, etc.). Click here to view more pictures of camping at Wilderness Adventure.
