The outdoor environment
offers endless opportunities for children to explore their senses, enhance
their creativity, and experience a wide variety of exciting adventure
activities. Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing provides a safe environment
where young children can experience camping, outdoor living, and adventure
activities through a well-structured, introductory process.
Each co-ed group of
twelve participants is led by qualified leaders who oversee, introduce, and
guide these young campers through each day's activities. When participants
aren't taking short day hikes with their group or visiting a natural
waterslide, they will be learning introductory climbing skills on our climbing
wall/rappelling tower or basic kayaking strokes on our pond. Each day is packed
with activities that range from our low-ropes teambuilding course, tubing, and
fishing to caving, climbing, canoeing, and kayaking.
Whether it's a one or two-week course, with a co-ed group of twelve campers and two qualified leaders, they will learn to work together as a team to create unforgettable memories.
Since this age group typically has little or no experience backpacking and camping, we have created this program to progress gradually. They will begin their trip in a permanent campsite on our property from where the group will venture out each morning and return each evening after a full day of activity. As their comfort level increases they will move to a new, more primitive campsite that is still located on our base camp property. The second week of two-week programs will be spent off-site, camping and exploring new areas within the National Forest. Your child is sure to leave Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing with new outdoor skills, increased confidence, and the experience of a lifetime!
One Week
Each one-week course is jam-packed with exciting activities that will leave participants feeling as if they've conquered a lifetime of adventure. Whether it's fire-by-friction or exploring a cave, participants will be introduced to new adventure activities and learning opportunities each day before returning to their campsite at night to sleep in two to three-person tents beneath the stars!
Activities:
caving, canoeing, natural waterslide, climbing wall, rappelling tower, low
challenge course, outdoor education, tubing, day hikes, camping, primitive
living skills, fishing, archery, soccer, &
more.
Two Weeks
Participants in our two-week course will enjoy all the activities included in our one-week session in addition to rock climbing, white-water kayaking, and light backpacking. As participants become more accustomed to living and camping outdoors, they will venture into the National Forest during the second week to experience a wider range of adventure activities. With each new adventure and each new friendship that develops, your child is sure to leave us with a smile!
