If you have ever craved
the adventure of traveling by mountain bike through the beautiful Appalachian
Mountains then Rock & Roll may be your remedy.
For two weeks, you and
your fellow riders will bike across southwest Virginia on your way to the New
River Gorge in West Virginia. Your trip will begin at our Base Camp where you
will be outfitted with your gear, mountain bike, and a tow-behind trailer.
After a day of teambuilding and introductory bike maintenance, your group will
pack up their trailers and bike off of our Base Camp. Each day will be spent
gaining mileage between destinations and enjoying the thrill and adrenaline
rush of single-track riding without trailers in tow. As your route winds its
way through the majestic mountainside you will take periodic breaks where you
will have the opportunity to hone your rock climbing skills and knowledge. From
anchor set ups for climbing to proper belay technique you will walk away a more
confident rock climber.
Eventually you will
arrive at the spectacular New River Gorge deep in West Virginia. It is here
that you will spend your final days participating in what the New River Gorge
is famous for: rock climbing and white-water rafting. A few days of technical
climbing on shear granite walls followed by a heart pounding rafting trip down
the Class III-IV rapids of the New River. Join us in this adventure and perfect
your rock climbing and mountain biking techniques while enjoying the
camaraderie of your fellow riders. This trip is geared toward more experienced
riders. Novices should call ahead to discuss whether their skill level is
appropriate.
Activities:
mountain biking, rock climbing, belay training, white-water rafting, &
more.
"Another great
thing about Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing is the sense of daily
accomplishment. Everyday there is a new challenging goal! I am so grateful
because in one week I did things that some people never get to do in a life
time."
