Leadership Our staff makes the
difference.
Wilderness Adventure at
Eagle Landing is proud of its long standing and excellent safety record. We are
especially proud of our dedicated, highly trained staff for making this record
possible, year after year. Emphasis is placed on thorough instruction with 24
hour supervision. All leaders and activity specialists must successfully
complete a rigorous training and certification program. Staff members are
selected from among many qualified applicants based on their counseling
ability, experience working with youth, outdoor recreation skills, medical and
other certifications, personal background, and in-depth personal interviews. We
have a large number of year-round staff in addition to returning summer
veterans. All Leaders and Activity Specialists are certified, at a minimum, in
Wilderness First Aid, CPR, and Water Safety. In addition to these required
certifications, many staff members also possess additional certifications such
as Wilderness First Responder, EMT, Wilderness EMT, ACA Swift Water Rescue and
High Angle Rescue. The average age of the staff is approximately 26.
