Wilderness Adventure at
Eagle Landing has designed the Tracks program to provide introductory outdoor
experiences for children ages 11-12. Throughout their journey, your child will
experience a unique blend of outdoor activities ranging from our low ropes
teambuilding course, canoeing, and fishing, to caving, rock climbing, and
kayaking. As each new activity is introduced, our leaders and instructors
adhere to our "challenge by choice" philosophy that allows participants to
progress at a pace that is best suited for them. Whether it's a one or two-week
course, with a co-ed group of twelve campers and two qualified leaders, they
will learn to work together as a team to create unforgettable
memories.
Since this age group
typically has little or no experience backpacking and camping, we have created
this program to progress gradually. They will begin their trip in a permanent
campsite on our property from where the group will venture out each morning and
return each evening after a full day of activity. As their comfort level
increases they will move to a new, more primitive campsite that is still
located on our base camp property. The second week of two-week programs will be
spent off-site, camping and exploring new areas within the National Forest.
Your child is sure to leave Wilderness Adventure at Eagle Landing with new
outdoor skills, increased confidence, and the experience of a lifetime!
One Week
Each one-week course is
jam-packed with exciting activities that will leave participants feeling as if
they've conquered a lifetime of adventure. Whether it's fire-by-friction or
exploring a cave, participants will be introduced to new adventure activities
and learning opportunities each day before returning to their campsite at night
to sleep in two to three-person tents beneath the stars!
Activities:
caving, canoeing, 900' zip line, natural waterslide, climbing wall, rappelling
tower, low & high challenge courses, outdoor education, tubing, day hikes,
camping, primitive living skills, soccer, archery, &
more.
Two Weeks
Participants in our
two-week course will enjoy all the activities included in our one-week session
in addition to rock climbing, kayaking, and light backpacking. As
participants become more accustomed to living and camping outdoors, they will
venture into the National Forest during the second week to experience a wider
range of adventure activities. With each new adventure and each new friendship
that develops, your child is sure to leave us with a smile!
