2012 OUTDOOR DISCOVERY DATES:

Starting with age 8 and extending to 12, the Outdoor Discovery Summer Trip offers your young adventurer the opportunity to explore the outdoors while participating in age-appropriate adventure activities. By staying on our 500 acre property for the first half of the trip, our staff preparing more of their meals for them, and allowing them to shower a few times throughout their stay we ease less experienced participants into the world of backpacking and tent camping.
With the Outdoor Discovery trip, participants not only learn how to camp, canoe, cave, rock climb, and other adventure activities but we will also blend it with more traditional summer camp activities including archery, soccer, kickball, and capture-the-flag which are more familiar to most kids.
In our move to develop a more age-appropriate wilderness experience, campers will not be 100% submerged into the outdoors. Instead they will have the unique opportunity to combine a “wilderness camp” without leaving all of the comforts of home behind. Outdoor Discovery Summer Camps are designed to prepare a participant for future adventures in the outdoors.

Outdoor Discovery Philosophy
We develop character and life skills through adventure and challenge. The Outdoor Discovery trips are one week programs that provide an excellent opportunity to expose your young adventurer to the beauty of the outdoors.
It’s a fun-filled, structured camping experience that combines short hikes with adventure activities. At the beginning of each program participants are issued day packs, sleeping bags, tents, and all of the supplies needed for an exciting outdoor experience.
Each program is intended to offer introductory experiences to a variety of age-appropriate outdoor activities, and each day they will be exposed to new adventures. Each group will spend their nights building group camaraderie and friendship around the campfire and staying in tents under the stars.
No previous experience is required as our leaders and instructors begin at an introductory level and slowly advance by teaching and promoting responsibility, stewardship, respect, and teamwork.
