Classic Adventure offers an incredible mix of challenge, discovery, and pure fun for campers who are ready to dive into real outdoor adventure! Designed for ages 13–14, this program blends hands-on learning with unforgettable experiences as campers travel and camp in new locations each night, exploring wild spaces, building friendships, and discovering the joy of life on the trail.
Each day is filled with exciting activities like rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, and caving, with plenty of time for camp games, swimming, and campfire stories along the way. Campers move between adventure sites both on and off Basecamp, experiencing the thrill of new places and shared adventure as they hike, paddle, and ride through Virginia’s beautiful mountain landscapes.
Living fully outdoors, campers learn to pack and carry their own gear, cook meals together, and practice Leave No Trace principles—all while enjoying the freedom, friendship, and laughter that make these trips so memorable.
Through shared challenges and evening reflections under the stars, campers grow into confident, capable, and connected young adventurers. They learn not only how to thrive outdoors but how to lead by example, work as a team, and celebrate every moment along the way.

HOMESTEAD ADVENTURE CAMP

Homestead Adventure Camp offers the perfect balance of adventure and comfort! Designed for campers who love exciting outdoor activities but also appreciate the convenience of lodge life, this program truly delivers the best of both worlds.
 
Campers stay in one of our beautiful Lodges, complete with bathrooms, showers, and hearty meals prepared by our camp kitchen. Each day is packed with thrilling electives like rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, and caving, while evenings bring time to relax, connect, and recharge in the comfort of the lodge.
 
While most nights are spent indoors, campers will still have the chance to head out on optional overnight excursions — experiencing the magic of campfires, starlit skies, and s’mores that make summer unforgettable.
 
One of the best parts of Homestead Adventure Camp is the community. Because all campers stay together in the different Lodging spaces, they’ll meet kids from different age groups and form friendships across camp. At the same time, activities and cabins are divided by age, ensuring that each camper experiences adventure and connection with peers their own age.
 
Through group challenges, outdoor adventures, and shared lodge life, campers will build teamwork, leadership, and confidence — creating memories that last a lifetime.

Outdoor Engineering Summer Camp

Outdoor Engineering Camp is where innovation meets adventure! Designed for curious minds and creative problem-solvers, this one-of-a-kind program combines hands-on engineering projects with the thrill of outdoor exploration. Campers unleash their creativity as they build underwater rover robots, use 3D printers, learn bicycle mechanics, craft primitive shelters, and practice orienteering—all while learning how science and engineering come alive in the wild.
Each day blends team challenges and real-world projects with classic Wilderness Adventure activities like rock climbing, kayaking, and campfire nights. Campers work together to experiment, design, and explore, discovering that innovation doesn’t just happen in a classroom—it happens on the trail, by the river, and under the open sky.
Through these projects and adventures, campers develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills while building confidence in their ability to problem-solve creatively. (Girls in Recreational Leadership) is an empowering outdoor leadership expedition designed specifically for young women ready to challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and lead with purpose. This specialty trip offers a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where girls can build lifelong skills through adventure, community, and reflection.
G.I.R.L. is more than just a camp—it’s a backpacking-based leadership experience that combines adventure with personal growth. Participants will take on the challenges of the wilderness while learning essential outdoor and leadership skills to help them excel not only in camp settings but also in the broader outdoor recreation environment—where strong female leadership is needed and celebrated.

Rock Climbing Summer Camp
A climbing-focused summer camp for those looking to improve their climbing skills!
Ages: 14 - 17
Length: One Week

Rock Climbing Summer Camp is built for adventure-seekers ready to climb higher—literally! Perfect for both new and experienced climbers, this week-long program combines skill development, exploration, and teamwork for an unforgettable climbing experience.
Each day, campers take on new challenges as they climb vertical rock faces, learn rope systems, and become belay certified under the guidance of experienced climbing instructors. Campers will push their limits on top rope routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.10d, while gaining a deeper understanding of sport and traditional lead climbing techniques.
Midweek, the adventure expands to the world-renowned New River Gorge in West Virginia, one of the nation’s premier climbing destinations, where campers experience the thrill of climbing on real sandstone cliffs surrounded by incredible scenery and community.
Evenings bring a different kind of reward—campfire laughs, trail stories, and nights spent under the stars with new friends. Campers live outdoors in backpacking tents, sharing meals, adventures, and memories that last a lifetime.

Mountain Biking Summer Camp
The best summer camp for campers who love mountain biking!

Mountain Biking Summer Camp is the ultimate adventure for campers who love to ride! Designed for teens of all experience levels, this high-energy program combines skill development, trail exploration, and backcountry adventure into one unforgettable week.
Led by expert instructors, campers learn everything from bike maintenance and repair to riding technique and trail safety. Whether you’re new to mountain biking or already an experienced rider, you’ll gain confidence as you explore a mix of Basecamp trails and off-site routes across the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Each day features trail rides, technical challenges, and team-building activities, along with introductions to bike-packing, backcountry camping, and the basics of living outdoors. Campers also learn knot tying, water purification, and Leave No Trace principles, gaining both independence and outdoor know-how.
And of course, it’s not all about training—there’s plenty of time for swims, games, laughter, and campfire stories that make every ride and every evening unforgettable.
All necessary gear, including bikes, helmets, gloves, and water bottles, is provided—but riders are welcome to bring their own mountain bike if it’s in great condition.

Go With The Flow Camp
A watersports-based camp with kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, and more!
Ages: 14 - 17
Length: Two Weeks

Go With The Flow Camp is the ultimate adventure for teens who can’t get enough of the water! Designed for high school students who love paddling, teamwork, and challenge, this two-week experience takes campers on an unforgettable journey across rivers, lakes, and whitewater rapids throughout Virginia and West Virginia.
Campers learn essential paddling and river-reading skills while navigating Class I–III rapids in kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, with opportunities to push their limits under the guidance of experienced instructors. Along the way, they’ll take part in a Swiftwater Rescue clinic to enhance safety and confidence on moving water.
The adventure doesn’t stop there—campers also tackle rock climbing at the sandstone cliffs of Bozoo, West Virginia, adding another layer of excitement and skill-building to their experience. Each day blends on-the-water exploration with classic camp life, including backcountry cooking, fire building, knot tying, and Leave No Trace principles.
Throughout the trip, groups camp along the river, sharing stories by the fire, laughing with new friends, and celebrating every rapid conquered together. Campers finish the session with a whitewater rafting trip on the New River Gorge, navigating Class IV–V rapids alongside professional guides for the grand finale.
