Lodge life

Comfort that builds community

Campers stay in one of Wilderness Adventure’s lodges, complete with bathrooms, showers, and hearty meals prepared by our camp kitchen. Evenings are a chance to relax, connect with friends, and recharge after full days outdoors.

While most nights are spent indoors, campers can opt into overnight excursions—sleeping under the stars, gathering around campfires, and enjoying classic camp moments like s’mores and stories.

One of Homestead Adventure Camp's defining features is its shared-lodge experience. Campers live together across age groups, building friendships throughout the camp, while still participating in activities and cabin groups with peers their own age.

Our staff is WA-some

Safety & Supervision

Safety comes first—always. Every activity is led by dedicated experts hired for their experience and expertise, and all staff are Wilderness First Aid–certified. Campers receive a thorough safety orientation at the start of their session, and every activity is age-appropriate and supported by proper safety equipment.

An on-site infirmary and attentive supervision throughout the day ensure campers are supported as they challenge themselves and have fun.

1

Arrival & Welcome

Campers arrive, settle into the lodge, and get comfortable in their new home for the week. After meeting counselors and fellow campers, the group heads out for icebreakers, camp games, and a tour of Basecamp. The evening wraps up with a hot dinner from the camp kitchen and a relaxed campfire to kick off the week.

2

On the Water

The week begins with kayaking and canoeing, where campers learn paddling skills and explore calm waters. In the afternoon, groups rotate through outdoor education activities focused on local ecosystems and wildlife. After dinner in the lodge, the evening is spent playing games, hanging out with friends, and recharging for the next day.

3

Climb High, Explore Deep

Campers head out for rock climbing in the morning, learning technique, balance, and trust as they work their way up the wall. After lunch, the adventure continues with a guided caving trip that introduces geology, navigation, and underground exploration. The day ends back at the lodge with a warm meal and time to relax.

4

Learn Outside

Midweek focuses on outdoor skills and education. Campers explore local trails, practice navigation, learn Leave No Trace principles, and take part in hands-on nature discovery. In the afternoon, group challenges and games build teamwork and confidence. Evening lodge time includes activities, reflection, and plenty of laughter.

5

Choose Your Adventure

Campers get to mix things up with a day of rotating electives—kayaking, hiking, climbing, or team challenges—based on age and interest. Those who want a taste of classic camping can opt into an overnight campout, complete with campfire stories and s’mores, while others enjoy a cozy night back in the lodge.

6

Basecamp Games

The morning brings camp-wide games and friendly competitions that bring everyone together. In the afternoon, campers revisit favorite activities or try something new. The week wraps up with a celebration dinner, skits, and a closing campfire filled with stories and memories from the week.

7

Team Challenge Day

Campers take on low ropes elements that test communication and trust before moving on to the high ropes course and the giant swing, where encouragement and problem-solving matter as much as bravery.  After a full day of working together, the group winds down with dinner and a relaxed evening, proud of what they achieved as a team.
