Family reunions

A family reunion venue with room for everyone

Beds for the whole family, meals taken care of, and plenty to do from toddlers to grandparents, without anyone getting in a car.

Why families choose us

Everyone in one place

Finding somewhere that works for toddlers, teenagers and grandparents at the same time is hard. A camp and retreat center can be the answer: enough beds for everyone, meals taken care of, and plenty to do on one property.

Summer weekends go fast. Spring and fall are lovely in the mountains, and January to March comes with discounted rates.

  • Lodges and cabins sleep up to 130, with room to camp
  • Home-style buffets for every meal, or a themed dinner like a pig roast
  • Sly Lodge has a full kitchen and grill if your family loves to cook together
  • The gazebo by the pond and the pavilion make great backdrops for the group photo

Where everyone sleeps

Room for every branch of the family

Mix and match the lodges, cabins and campground to fit the family. The Main Lodge makes a natural gathering place, and campsites suit the cousins who'd rather sleep under the stars.

Pets aren't allowed in the lodges (service animals excepted), but well-behaved pets can camp.

  • The Main Lodge sleeps 56, with a stone fireplace and a long covered porch
  • Sly Lodge sleeps 33, with a full kitchen and a patio with a grill
  • The Sneaky Cabin sleeps 8 and the Old Homestead, an 1800s log cabin, sleeps 6
  • The campground always has room for more tents, and glamping tents can be set up on request

A reunion weekend

Plan one big moment, and let the rest be relaxed.

  • Friday: families arrive through the afternoon and settle in. A big buffet dinner, name tags for the newest members, and the first night by the fire pit.
  • Saturday: breakfast together, then a morning of activities. Lunch, a lazy afternoon on the creek or the porch, the group photo before dinner, and an evening of stories or a talent show.
  • Sunday: a final brunch, a short goodbye, and plans for next time.
Common questions

Planning a family reunion

How far ahead should we book?

Reunions take time to organize, especially when people are traveling. Send a few date options to the family early, then book as soon as you've settled on one. Send us final numbers, allergies and dietary needs two weeks before you arrive.

How do we share the cost?

Group bookings start with a 30% non-refundable deposit and a payment plan, so collect deposits from each family early. Mixing lodge rooms with camping can bring the cost per person down.

Will our group have the property to ourselves?

Groups that book exclusive use will be on their own. Otherwise other groups may be on site, so ask your coordinator when you inquire.

Is the property accessible?

Sly Lodge, the bathhouse, the gazebo and the pavilion are wheelchair accessible. Tell us about any needs when you book so we can plan activities that include everyone.

Can you handle allergies and dietary needs?

Yes, with notice. Tell us about allergies and dietary restrictions at least two weeks before you arrive and we can guarantee alternatives at every meal.

Is there cell service and WiFi?

Cell reception is very limited and high-speed internet is not available. The lodges have limited WiFi. Let people know in advance how to reach the office in an emergency: 540-864-6792.

Who looks after us while we're there?

Every group of eight or more is assigned a host, and at least one staff member is on duty day and night.

Plan your family reunion

Call the office or send an inquiry with your dates and numbers, and a coordinator will put together a pricing proposal. Once you approve it we send a reservation agreement to sign, then an invoice with a 30% non-refundable deposit. A payment plan is available.
